When I landscaped around our pool in early summer, in an effort to save money, I used plants given to me by my dad. I was grateful to have them and planted pineapple plants that he grew from the tops of two pineapples, a tuberous plant, and an orchid. I had no idea what the orchid would look like. I don’t know if my dad ever saw it bloom.
Thanks to our tropical summer with lots of rain, it has now bloomed.
The reddish colors of the pineapple plant behind, and the grassy look of the tuberous in the background adds a great contrast. This is landscaping on a budget at its finest.
“Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.” Isaiah 55:2
