Providing Shade in the Garden

The June temperatures are rising. Many times during the summer, I have to stop working in the garden by lunch time. The heat becomes unbearable until later in the evening.

This year I bought an umbrella, from Aldi’s of all places, for a great price of only $16.99. The umbrella is treated to provide 100% sun protection. It has an anchor on the bottom with handles to turn it into the soil. It was very easy to put together and goes into the soil easily. It has a tilt feature that with the right placement, can provide even more protection from the hot sun.

So….whether I am weeding a bed or picking green beans, I can do it in the shade.

Tomorrow will complete all the verses signed into my book at the Duggar book signing on June 8th. Today’s verses are from Jinger Duggar.

Isaiah 61: 1-3 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that morn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”
